Chilatherina alleni 'Wapoga'
Chilatherina alleni 'Wapoga' are a stunning, highly active rainbowfish that come from the Wapoga River in West Papua. The 'Wapoga' varierty are the second alleni variety to be discovered and have only recently been made available in the hobby. The C. alleni is named after Gerald R. Allen to honour his contribution to ichthyology, especially with regards the fauna from New Guinea.
This is yet another of my favourate rainbowfish. Watching the male C. alleni 'Wapoga' in action, especially while spawning is truly fantastic. Unfortunately my efforts to capture this on camera have failed thus far, but take my word for it, it's stunning!
